One of the primary OpenStax goals is to reduce the costs of educational resources for students. As we are a grant-funded organization, the funding does not provide for the expense of printing and shipping complimentary copies of our books. Therefore, we must absorb those costs, which ultimately, may result in higher prices for our print offerings. To counter this, we’ve decided not to send out comp copies and instead ask instructors and/or departments to purchase any review copies they may need. The OpenStax books are available for purchase through most campus bookstores via our distribution partners (OpenStax.org/bookstore-suppliers) or directly from Amazon.com. Additionally, the PDF version of the texts are spectacular and can be printed locally without any restrictions. The PDF content is exactly the same as the content found in the physical book and can be found on each book's Details page on OpenStax.org. After you arrive on the book's Details page, you will see all of the available formats of the textbook to the left of the screen under the "Get the book" heading as seen in the example below.
